Kansas City Style Spareribs
in a pellet smoker:
Ingredients:
- 1 racks of pork spareribs (3 pounds)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon gound allspice
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½
teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon celery salt
- ¼ teaspoon cayende pepper
¼ teaspoon ground cumin
1 cup of barbecue sauce
Instructions:
1. Preheat your pellet smoker to 225°F (107°C).
2. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar,
salt, chili powder, black Pepper, Gound allspice, garlic powder, onion powder,
celery salt, cayenne pepper, ground cumin to create the rub.
3. Remove the membrane from
the back of the ribs and trim any excess fat.
4. Rub the spice mixture generously all over the
ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.( let it marinate for a least one hour)
5. Place the ribs on the smoker racks bone side
down and smoke for about 3-4 hours, or until the meat starts to pull away from
the bones.
6. After the initial smoking period, brush the
ribs with the Kansas City style barbecue sauce.
7. Continue to smoke the ribs for an additional
30 minutes to 1 hour, or until they are tender, and the sauce has caramelized.
8. Once done, remove the ribs from the smoker
and let them rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
